FOLDING DOLL STROLLER MAKEOVER

I am a total fan of not overwhelming our kids with dozens of toys, dolls, figures, blocks, games, stuffed animals, except for books, which I might buy every day. I think it's craziness when the kid has a room full of the little plastic creatures the adults created for the kids or maybe themselves... who knows. To be clear - I'm not the enemy of toys in general - it is the huge number of them put at the disposal of our kids that makes me sick.
There is this crazy friend of mine, Ann, a Mum of gorgeous little Josephine, that keeps telling me to buy more and more toys for my Zu, otherwise I'll destroy her childhood :-) One day I let this theory to conquer my head. It was the same day when the babysitter told me the story on how did Zu fight on the playground with another girl who had a baby doll stroller. The result - I went to the nearest shop and bought the doll stroller - the only one left, blue with ugly case. I bought it promising myself to change the case as soon as possible. To tell you the truth I also found this idea a great opportunity to write a post here and show you how easily you can change the bad-looking toy into something... more interesting :-)

Wooden house - easy DIY

I have never ever thought I would one day write a post with a magic "DIY" in title. Few months of blogging and here it is :-) This would be an easy kind of DIY, as I don't feel like an appropriate person to show anybody how to do things, art and design especially. However, these many many months of surfing in this design world convinced me that any advice, even the littlest one, may save somebody's interiors, somebody's big project, that may inspire somebody to start its own interior therapy :-)

And here we are! It's almost Easter.
Luckily I've started planning on this easter decoration long long time before, so I'm ready now to show you how I decorated my home for these great days.

4 tips and tricks I wish I'd known before I started blogging

I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.
Maya Angelou
You may find dozens of advices from other bloggers and proffessionals saying that nowadays photography is the most important thing in blogging. I totally agree with all of them! My only observation is heading even further - I think for a good blogging it is all a matter of good visual part, not only pictures, but layouts, graphics, fonts, posters - every part of the blog that is not the content (text), but is deciding for the viewer. Take your evening coffee, have a sit and read carefully.

Crayons wooden box DIY

Well, well, well. When I was starting this blog and defining what it will be about and what I want to show you here, I've never even supposed I'll be doing DIY projects. I was so in love with sewing and knitting that I almost forgot about my passion to other types of crafting. It was all the new connections and meetings that brought me here - to my first DIY post. One day I realized all my inspirations and new ideas are circling around home decor DIY.
So I looked around and found soooo many things to be done at my appartment! I've decided to start with an easy one though, and the one mostly important and necessary these days. My daughter's crayons box - plain and simple.

Is it a failure yet or good point to work harder?

Wow! So many new followers and comments below my last FollowFriday post! I'm impressed! OK, I'm not. I'm afraid I'm doing my first step back in blogging, and the next days will be crucial for my existence in bloggers community. Why is it so? Because my inspiration level gets down, to zero, actually. I had soo many ideas when restarting this project, and I'm willing to put them into effect, but what will happen next? What will I post about when the head is empty? How will I attract you to stay at the blog and keep visiting it from time to time. My dream was to have each one of you here at your first coffee in the morning and arouse your passion for pretty things and curiosity for DIY projects...But for having this I need to get my passion back - the passion I had handwriting this sign or sewing tiny little dress for my Zu.

So what to start with - I thought entrance doors might be a good idea for the beginning. You look at your home and first thing you see are the doors. Get your home ready for the Spring!

Do you feel the Spring coming on? Well, I do! Apart from the fact that it's still a bit gray and windy outside and the Sun is still playing with us, I feel the Spring in the air. Look, how incredibly easy DIY I found on Pinterest with tips and tricks on how to put some blooming letters into your home! I know, it's not so common in Poland to put decorations on your door, but you can also put the letter on the window, balcony or simply anywhere else around you. As long as the project involve floral foam, it's safe for the fresh flowers. You can also use faux flowers and be sure the ornament looks great on the wall. Pick your flowers and enjoy, because I will!

Blooming kitchen apron

Welcome back after a long weekend - too long if you ask me, as it was totally overhelmed taking care of the sick little lady with her 40 degree fever. Luckily my husband helped me alot with our Dawdler, and so did our family and friends, visiting us and replacing us for a few moments in playing with Zu. Thanks everybody! You are irreplaceable.

Due to this crazy weekend sickness I wasn't even able to show you the Icons for Follow Friday #2, not to mention a new post. But today is a good day to do that, so here you are: inspired by the visit of my friend, Asia - blooming kitchen apron.

The best is yet to come...

There is lots and lots of things happening behind the scenes, which will come to the public soon, I even hope it'll be very soon. I'd like to thank all of you who visit my blog and thanks to whom I keep breathing in this virtual world. For this moment I need to show you just a little bit of what I did in the past, still keeping the best for the future. It's a part of a small box of things made in grey melange fabric. Small ot only because it's quite difficult for the begginer to sew this kind of fabric, but also because I find this colour pretty sad, especially when worn by babies and toddlers.
What I made during my journey with grey melange was the Cotton Baby Blanket, which I showed you yet in January (here), and the headband - a small masterpiece gifted to my younger sister, Eva.

Colorful beanie and tube socks

This passing winter I learned how to use the magical use of magic loop needles, which is great and so easy! As soon as I caught the idea and magic tricks to avoid sewing the beanie with ugly stitches, I had to make something for upcoming snow. So here it is: the colourful striped project for Zu, composed of a hat and tube socks, which are so little and cute.

Few days before I came back to work after a year of my maternity leave, I have organized a First Birthday Party for my little Zu. Would you like to know, how I made it? Coffee, donut, comfortable chair and here we go!

Vintage baby dress trimmed with lace

This story will be about how the baby dress affected the day my little Zu was born. When waiting for her, I was looking for some nice dresses on the Internet for the coming winter and spring and many special occasions we were ment to have in the future. I've visited several nice on-line shops, craft masters blogs and others, and I have finally found the inspiration I was looking for. It was a Vivi & Oli Babies Fashion Life blog that have directed me to these masterpieces of the BBK Creations  company in France. The collection of dresses and shoes for the little princess was actually an art. Lovely, vintage designed, retro inspired with nice cal colours, terrific ribbons and so precise in details as no one else is making.

Christening knitted baby balnket

Many of you may have already noticed that a great part of my work recently posted on my Blog is made especially for someone. Today I'll reveal you another part of the box - made especially for my daughter, little Zu. As it is with a small baby, there is only a little bit of time during the day, which Mum may spend doing her favorite things, including crafts in my case :-) But, if you look at the time when the baby was expected, here you have a long 9 months for doing everything you want!

And so it was in my story - I made a lot of things I supposed would be necessary for Zu when I was waiting for her. But the blanket I want to show you in this post was made right after she was born, when I started collecting the baptism apparel for her.

You don't use a kitchen apron? Don't worry, I'll make one for you!

My dearest sister Ann and her husband is going to visit South America these days. What an adventure is waiting for them!!! (Oh! How jealous I am!) Before their departure we went to visit them last Sunday evening, and I have once again noticed (actually I have only confimed my prevoius observation) that my sister doesn't use the kitchen glove I made for her one day for her name day!!!
When I visit Sokół, the kitchen glove and the apron I made for her new appartment looks like being used all around :-) And I love it!
But, frankly speaking, I also accept the fact, that my dearest sister Ann doesn't have a need to use the kitchen accessories I made for her, although it is she who is cooking the most in our family (exept our Mom). I have to admit, that at the time I made these accessories for Ann as a gift, I was able to do only such things on my sewing machine. I loved the way the fabrics may be put together in different combination, and I thought my sister (or anybody else) would love it too. So there was a moment in my life, when I made only kitchen accessories gifts, no matter if the recipient needed such accessories or not, and no matter if he or she was going to use it or not :-) I didn't care as long as I loved the gifts I made by my hands. Well, I'll show you some of them, and you decide, whether I was right or not :-)

Black and white snow beanie

My husband used to say I always do these masterpieces for others instead of doing something for him. I did a lot of stuff for my friends and family members, and there was no time for doing things for the closest friend of mine and the closest family member. That was his accusation I had to face day by day. When I think about it now, I guess it was all of the inspiration moments, that gave me picture of things I am sure my husband wouldn't like to have or even watch. They were colorful kitchen aprons or crazy pixel patchwork throws, while at our home we applied black and white style.

But finally he requested a THING especially for him! The black and white beanie made for the big snow holidays we look forward to!

Have a very nice weekend!

Today was the hardest day from at least a year so no time for making the post for you I was going to.
Just a quick sneak peek of big yarn knitting I made lately and I will be back soon, so stay tunned!

Cotton baby blanket

Today I'd like to show you some little part of my work I did when waiting for the little Zu. This is also a part of my adventure with grey cotton blend fabric, which I use random, but as you will see in my future posts, I have made some home and wear details out of this kind of fabric.

Wedding table plans

It seems like the weekend is over again. This one was very busy for me, not only because of the 14th months old Zuuu and all the staff I wanted to do because of the usual weekend. Here, on the Blog, perhaps it looks like I had two days off from posts and the Passion of mine, but in fact it is totally different! However I didn't write even a tiny part of a post, I did a lot of searching, digging, thinking - of what to do and how to do it to make this Blog a nice place for everyone, not just me. I hope in few days, or maybe a bit later, I will show you a part of this conceptual work I did this weekend, while the rest of it will remain my mystery :-) Oh, you can't even imagine - and couldn't have I before, how much labourious it is to have a blog.

Happy Grandfather's Day

Just a quick note that came to my mind after this day, being in fact Grandfather's Day in Poland. I have an idea for a new tagline for my babyblog :-) 'Powered by friends!' Wow, thank you guys! You're awesome!

Newborn beanies

Today is Grandmother's Day in Poland. One of mine has unfortunately passed away few years ago, but is still in my mind, especially in this day. I remember when I was a little girl I used to take few lessons on knitting from my dearest Granny, who knew everything about knitting. She used to make those colorful knitted winter socks, which I wear when the snow is deep. I still regret I learned only how to make the first step with needles and that's all. But the passion for it was somewhere there in me, waiting for its moment in my life.

And here it is! The begining of it wasn't in fact connected with the extreme knitting, I wrote about in my previous post. It was a time when I was expecting my little baby. My husband grandmother made us two gorgeous newborn sweaters with little hats. They brought me to the idea of arranging a newborn photo session for my baby when she comes into the world. I've started to learn left and right loops, the most simple patterns for how to make a newborn beanie. Because I was fond of photos of little babies with those cute beanies on. My dream was to make the session with beanies made by my own. And I did it!

Egg collection of Craftberrybush

If I ever have my own small, cozy house, I would make some part of it decorated with the Egg collection and Feather collection - both made by Craftberrybush, which I admire alot. The work of this artist looks prettiest with every project she does, especially her watercolor paintings, so gentle and colorful. And so realistic. I keep following her for many months now, and I'm still not decided which project of her I'd love to have the most. However, as I was born in a neighborhood of great green forest, full of birds and animals, I would like to have a piece of it at my home. That's why I picked the Egg collection and the Feather collection, as they reflect the nature of birds and the colors are one of my favorites. Look how beautiful they are:
