FOLDING DOLL STROLLER MAKEOVER

I am a total fan of not overwhelming our kids with dozens of toys, dolls, figures, blocks, games, stuffed animals, except for books, which I might buy every day. I think it's craziness when the kid has a room full of the little plastic creatures the adults created for the kids or maybe themselves... who knows. To be clear - I'm not the enemy of toys in general - it is the huge number of them put at the disposal of our kids that makes me sick.
There is this crazy friend of mine, Ann, a Mum of gorgeous little Josephine, that keeps telling me to buy more and more toys for my Zu, otherwise I'll destroy her childhood :-) One day I let this theory to conquer my head. It was the same day when the babysitter told me the story on how did Zu fight on the playground with another girl who had a baby doll stroller. The result - I went to the nearest shop and bought the doll stroller - the only one left, blue with ugly case. I bought it promising myself to change the case as soon as possible. To tell you the truth I also found this idea a great opportunity to write a post here and show you how easily you can change the bad-looking toy into something... more interesting :-)

Hi there! Have you missed me? Oh, I missed you alot :-) Well, this is how it is when the passion meets every day life reality. Plus a little baby girl expecting her mum to play around and be at every demand :-) Lots of work at work, a week of winter holidays (the overdue one, although started on the first day of Spring), and then again a week of hard work. And here we are! It's almost Easter.
Luckily I've started planning on this easter decoration long long time before, so I'm ready now to show you how I decorated my home for these great days.

Hello my Friends!!! It's been a while now that I was off. And I am sorry for that. Blooming kitchen apron

Welcome back after a long weekend - too long if you ask me, as it was totally overhelmed taking care of the sick little lady with her 40 degree fever. Luckily my husband helped me alot with our Dawdler, and so did our family and friends, visiting us and replacing us for a few moments in playing with Zu. Thanks everybody! You are irreplaceable.

Due to this crazy weekend sickness I wasn't even able to show you the Icons for Follow Friday #2, not to mention a new post. But today is a good day to do that, so here you are: inspired by the visit of my friend, Asia - blooming kitchen apron.

The best is yet to come...

There is lots and lots of things happening behind the scenes, which will come to the public soon, I even hope it'll be very soon. I'd like to thank all of you who visit my blog and thanks to whom I keep breathing in this virtual world. For this moment I need to show you just a little bit of what I did in the past, still keeping the best for the future. It's a part of a small box of things made in grey melange fabric. Small ot only because it's quite difficult for the begginer to sew this kind of fabric, but also because I find this colour pretty sad, especially when worn by babies and toddlers.
What I made during my journey with grey melange was the Cotton Baby Blanket, which I showed you yet in January (here), and the headband - a small masterpiece gifted to my younger sister, Eva.

Vintage baby dress trimmed with lace

This story will be about how the baby dress affected the day my little Zu was born. When waiting for her, I was looking for some nice dresses on the Internet for the coming winter and spring and many special occasions we were ment to have in the future. I've visited several nice on-line shops, craft masters blogs and others, and I have finally found the inspiration I was looking for. It was a Vivi & Oli Babies Fashion Life blog that have directed me to these masterpieces of the BBK Creations  company in France. The collection of dresses and shoes for the little princess was actually an art. Lovely, vintage designed, retro inspired with nice cal colours, terrific ribbons and so precise in details as no one else is making.

You don't use a kitchen apron? Don't worry, I'll make one for you!

My dearest sister Ann and her husband is going to visit South America these days. What an adventure is waiting for them!!! (Oh! How jealous I am!) Before their departure we went to visit them last Sunday evening, and I have once again noticed (actually I have only confimed my prevoius observation) that my sister doesn't use the kitchen glove I made for her one day for her name day!!!
When I visit Sokół, the kitchen glove and the apron I made for her new appartment looks like being used all around :-) And I love it!
But, frankly speaking, I also accept the fact, that my dearest sister Ann doesn't have a need to use the kitchen accessories I made for her, although it is she who is cooking the most in our family (exept our Mom). I have to admit, that at the time I made these accessories for Ann as a gift, I was able to do only such things on my sewing machine. I loved the way the fabrics may be put together in different combination, and I thought my sister (or anybody else) would love it too. So there was a moment in my life, when I made only kitchen accessories gifts, no matter if the recipient needed such accessories or not, and no matter if he or she was going to use it or not :-) I didn't care as long as I loved the gifts I made by my hands. Well, I'll show you some of them, and you decide, whether I was right or not :-)

Cotton baby blanket

Today I'd like to show you some little part of my work I did when waiting for the little Zu. This is also a part of my adventure with grey cotton blend fabric, which I use random, but as you will see in my future posts, I have made some home and wear details out of this kind of fabric.

Butterfly baby blanket

In spite of ubiquitous minky fabric, especially those minky cuddle dimple dot fabrics which are used now for every kind of baby blankets in Poland (I've also used it in one of my projects, see here), as the spring came here, I have made a butterfly baby blanket for my little daughter. I made it of microfiber fabric, similar in touch with minky, but totally different in look.

No matter how minky blankets are beautiful, my daughter deserves something more original. I was looking for an inspiration for a long time and, as usual, it occured, that everything is within reach, you just need to take it and put the puzzle together. Enough talking, time for the show :-)

First steps in patchwork technique

After a long break it is high time to get back and catch up on my Blog adventure. There is lot of work to do, meaning lot of done projects to be shown to you, my dearest readers.

Today I will show you the effects of my first steps in patchwork - as I did really some nice throws in this technique. Unfortunately, I don't have much photos of it, not even much of time when I was doing them, collecting fabrics, cutting, sewing, etc. So here are only the results of my work. Could you imagine I did all of this with my simple 888 Arka Radom sewing machine? ;-)

My first baby blanket

The will be a New Human Being in our team of friends - with no name at the moment, but hopefully the Parents will sooner or later find out what the name might be and find an agreement on how to name the Baby nice :-)
For this New Baby, who will be a girl for sure (luckily we now at least the sex!), I have created on last Saturday a baby blanket made of blue minky fabric. The only condition set by the Mum of the New Baby Girl is that there is no exaggeration with pink, because although it will be a girl, the pink will be the last colour in her wardrobe.
So I made it, with only a slight addition of pinky, amaranth - to be precise. And I hope that the New Baby Girl will like it :-) Here it is - Baby Blanket No 1.

Pillow case - ciao ragazze e ragazzi!

After a long long break (isn't it the begining of each post of mine? Eh!), I am back with a new project. Guess what? It's all because of Sokół - she makes my creativity blooming :-) So she asked for two pillow cases, 35cmx35cm each.

And who picked the fabrics? Yes, yes, the famous, great, fabulous Sokół. I trust in her taste and her style as she is doing quite well with her scrapbooking hobby (OK, she does GREAT with it!). And I'm never worry she would pick a fabric I don't like. So she picked those "Who is that girl?" fabric of Robert Kaufman collection.

Bespoked gift for Maggie

Today I'd like to show you the gift I made for Maggie. It was my friend Kamila (hereinafter reffered to as: "Sokół" ;-) who asked me to do the gift. And she wanted to have a huge impact on what it would be done of. So at the begging we (read: mostle she ;-) have picked some fabrics from Craftfabric Store. Sokół choose the Cats, so the rest part of the gift had to be adjusted to the Cats...

My dearest Sokół was the first beneficiary of the kitchen apron and other kittchen accesories (see them here), and she loved it so much (I guess ;-) that she asked for a similiar one for Maggie.

Rising sewing lover

It has been for a long time now that I knew, crafting is what I love. I wasn't wrong, of course ;-) I realized that when it comes to sewing on the day of my 30'th birthday, as I got those simple sewing machine from my family. I started to sew right after the birthday cake! And here is what came out of it!
